Last month we showcased photos from Project A-kon. one of our favorite conventions to attend, right here in toasty Texas. Next month, fans will catch us in San Diego. California at Comic Con International, the biggest comic convention in the United States! It’s August 13-16 and we can't wait, since we're hoping San Diego will be cooler than San Antonio! We'll have our own booth at the convention this year and we’ll feature several of our creators during the convention for signings and sketches, like Chris Knowles. Will Allison. Michael Vega. Terric Smith and many more! (Even we don't know how many folks will show up yet!) Comic Con International also features just about any comic pro you can think of and I think anyone who likes comics should go at least once in their lifetime. It's really ama/ing to see all the companies, fans and pros take over the San Diego Convention Center and surrounding area for four days. We hope to see many of you there! The Comic Con International is also where the Eisner Awards are given out. The Eisners arc awards for excellence in comics, sort of like the Oscars, and arc named after Will Eisner, one of the living treasures of the comic field. This year. I'm pleased to see that Castle Waiting by Linda Medley was nominated. I can't think of a more deserving book, and I hope Linda wins! If you haven't read Castle Waiting yet. I highly recommend it. In a more superhero vein- and I know it's rare for me to recommend anything in that genre, but hey. £ood comics are good comics, regardless- Alan Davis' JLA: The Nail miniserics is really how superhero comics should be. Gorgeous art. good story-telling and more cameos than you can shake a fOI stick at make for an extremely enjoyable read. I’ve been a fan of Davis since the late 80s though, so perhaps I’m a bit biased, but it’s still a nice package, even down to the nice glossy paper. HYPER SPACE KEEN comic ITEmS FOR PARTICULAR PEOPLE!
