Pineco are notoriously guarded so it is hard to bond with them, it IS possible but it requires you share in their very patient, defensive mindset and approach CAREFULLY!
There are few cases of successful bonding with Forretress, since the Musu is as guarded as the steel on its body....however it IS possible to bond with them if you woo a Pineco before they evolve...or if you manage to breach their defenses and survive!

^ 204 PINECO In some of the more somber forests of the region, one may see musu hanging from the trees. These are Pineco. A unique musu that builds armor and weapons using pieces of bark fastened with their own saliva. A substance which has incredibly sticky and flammable properties. Since their habitat possesses everything they need, Pineco rarely travel. Instead they live in isolated cloisters with their sisters. There they expand their armory, meditate and practice techniques with their hand crafted weapons. Pineco don't take kindly to visitors and will attack any strangers who approach without good reason. Because of this, humans are wary to approach the forests they call home. The researchers with the most success approaching them came bearing honey. The Pineco still weren't cordial but they were o-pen to discussion. Attacking a Pineco is a poor idea, as attempting to approach them may result in being cut down and they're too camouflaged in the trees for most to attack from afar. It's also stated in rare occasions when a Pineco is in danger, they may ignite themselves and explode their armor to ensure that even in defeat, they take their foes with them. sTrainer Tips If Pineco believe that they're facing a strong foe, they'll eject pieces of their armor onto the forest floor to form caltrop layers. Some even coat their caltrops with poison to make them even more debilitating. ^ 205 FORRETRESS 170cm — musu While many consider Pineco to be one of the most dangerous musu, they can also enhance themselves into forre-tress and become even more hazardous than many thought possible. With the completed mastery of their hardening spit, forretress make their armor so strong that it’s comparable to reinforced steel. Also they realize that they can combine this new tensile strength with its flammability to make long range artillery cannons. With their enhanced perception and lack of care for other organisms, forretress will fire volleys at anything with a larger mana presence than a sunkern. This category includes most things that exist. Because of forretress1 explosive nature ,humans would rather build around forretress than actually confront them. Even adventurers that would confront great evils will decline to approach forretress for fear of collateral damage. Forretress1 canons are terrifying to a-pproach, especially since forretress can control them autonomously. But getting close doesn’t make things any safer. Like Pineco, the musu is a master of sword fighting and even possess techniques their predecessors don’t have like the gyro cut. sTrainer Tips We have precious little information on forretress1 appea ranсe aside from their armor. While we have reason to believe the musu has a body beneath the shell, the only forretress we’ve been able to approach were still on guard and gave little information on such things.
