I ^ 183 MARILL I 154C cm The aqua mouse musu, Marill, are often noticed from their bulbous tails that sit at the top of rivers, even when the musu is in the depths below. This is because most Marill are divers that search through river and ocean beds while their buoyant tails stay floating on the surface. Most harbors have sizable Marill populations within them or in surrounding areas. Marill that don't dive themselves will typically take up jobs as merchants, shipbuilders and sailors within the harbor they call home. Though most still recognize a Marill's tail in the water as a sign of a "salvager" specifically. Sailors and boat makers appreciate Marill for their aid in removing ship wreckage from waters. Additionally the presence of Marill tails on the surface of the water is a strong warning for sailors to keep away, as there's likely hazards just below the water's surface. They however don't appreciate the musu's propensity to sell back sailor's possessions from wreck's they scavenge. Marill have little ability to battle and often rely on the strength of others to protect them when on diving assignments. ^ 184 AZUMARILL Aqua. R □kemusu The aqua rabbit musu, Azumarill, are the result of a Marill pushing themselves to the limit. Most often this happens when a Marill tries to save someone they find drowning. In these moments of crisis the musu's manava-scular system goes into overdrive, giving them enhanced speed, so called "huge power" and amazing underwater hearing in addition to their new form. Since most Azumarill's transformations are the result of rescuing others, they feel obligated to continue doing so. Often they'll form dedicated rescue teams that operate out of harbors and coastal cities. Azumarill are considered important members of society for their rescue efforts but they take their jobs incredibly seriously and have such strict self impositions that the personal that work with them often find them grating. While they don't appear threatening at a glance, Azumarill aren't lying about their "huge power". Despite their muscle mass not being exceptional among musu, they're able to push the muscle they have far beyond what one would expect. Allowing them to break through ship wreckage and debris with ease, even when swimming.
